Product Details

Overview

  • Describes substantial changes to integration and circuit-shrinking new promising techniques and concerns
  • Explores possible impact on spurious emissions control of low-power wireless links (Wifi, Bluetooth)
  • Describes recent improvements in miniature, low-cost filters for hi-speed interfaces

About this book

The 3rd edition of Controlling Radiated Emissions by Design has been updated to reflect the latest changes in the field. New to this edition is material on aspects of technical advance, specifically long term energy efficiency, energy saving, RF pollution control, etc. This book retains the step-by-step approach for incorporating EMC into every new design, from the ground up. It describes the selection of quieter IC technologies, their implementation into a noise-free printed circuit layout, and the gathering of all these into low radiation packaging, including I/O filtering, connectors and cables considerations. All guidelines are supported by thorough and comprehensive calculated examples. Design engineers, EMC specialists and technicians will benefit from learning about the development of more efficient and economical control of emissions.

About the author

Michel Mardiguian is a distinguished electrical engineer and consultant specializing in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) He began his EMC career in 1974 as IBM's local EMC specialist and later served as the French delegate to the CISPR Working Group on computer radio frequency interference, contributing to the development of CISPR 22.
In 1980, Mardiguian joined Don White Consultants in the United States, where he became Director of Training and Vice President of Engineering, conducting over 160 EMC seminars worldwide.
Since 1990, he has operated as a private consultant in France, offering expertise in EMI, RFI, and ESD. Notably, he contributed to the EMC aspects of the Channel Tunnel project.
Mardiguian has authored nine widely recognized handbooks, with translations in Japanese and Chinese, and co-authored two books with Don White. He has presented numerous papers at IEEE and Zurich EMC Symposia and authored articles in technical magazines Design" and "Electro Static Discharge: Understand, Simulate, and Fix ESD Problems," which are essential resources in EMC and ESD fields.

Mardiguian's extensive experience and contributions have significantly advanced the field of EMC, making him a respected authority and sought-after consultant in the industry.
